In July, the Americans with Disability Act celebrated its 25th birthday. But a quarter of a century later, the disabled sexual revolution is still in the throes of action—a movement of progress that is currently being led by two amazing Jewish people. But wheelchair and all, she made a decision not to lose sight of her own beauty, sexuality, and desirability. Does that look sexy? I had my catheter bag on—because that is part of the disability. I wanted to let other women in my situation know they can be sexy and beautiful.

Returning to Hawaii last December was bittersweet. Sweet memories of all the good times we have had there before the accident, and bitterness at the senseless traumatic accident that changed our lives forever. Standing on that beach and talking to the lifeguards brought all of it back to the forefront. Both the despair and trauma of that day, and well the incredible kindness and love of complete strangers. The good stuff. The good people in the world that you never get to meet unless your worlds literally collide.
They are usually ignored. Until now. In a Miami gallery, the disabled women are larger than life, displayed in portraits splashed on white-washed gallery walls, nude on the beach or giving a come-hither look while perched on a stainless steel wheelchair. One woman playfully dons black wings while another pretends to be a silent-movie damsel in distress, tied to the railroad tracks as a train approaches.
Images of injured men in sports wheelchairs with bodies of field athletes are grassroots in media. From giving masculine chair models and bully men, to the everyday handicapped guy animation existence in a wheelchair. A wide ambit of incapacitated paraplegic and handicapped person tetraplegic guys.
